Crystal Prayer Ties

My hope is to share this wisdom tool to assist others during times of Change, Challenge, Endings, New Beginnings  and Celebratory times of life. May you use this gift in good faith, respect and honor for the value it can bring to your life.

I was inspired to add the crystal as well as use a specific Tobacco and Mullein to this traditional tool. Prepare and create the ties with a loving heart and God's will in mind.

Here are a few tips to get you started...

  • You can use this tool at anytime of the day, week or month. Let your heart and will guide you.

  • Begin with some centering breaths and a prayer. In your prayer invite in the directions of East, South, West, North, Sky and Earth and thank God/Creator, your spiritual guides, ancestors and guardian angels to assist you and these prayers to come to life according to the highest will and for the good of all.

  • Each color fabric will have its own prayer  placed into it.

  • Each color of the fabric  represents the four directions plus the sky and earth.. Place a little of the tobacco herb and mullein in the center of the fabric as you think, sing, say or even write your prayer (Be creative!). Next, wrap and tie the string around the gathered fabric to create a little bundle. The Crystal will be placed in the color green fabric for the Earth tie!

  • Yellow is the first color you will begin with. This is the color for the direction of the East.  It represents new birth, the morning sun and start which is Christ. This direction brings renewal and the animal associated with it is the Eagle and other high flying birds. The spirit is Christ itself! An example of a prayer maybe: "In the birth of each new day my family and community and I will be renewed and strengthened in faith and loving helpful freedom, balance, health and empowerment to renew our lives and the earth."

  • Red is next which is the direction of the South. It represents fertility, growth and fruiting. Examples of the animals associated with this direction are the deer, cougar, coyote..... What new changes or things in your life are you working on allowing more growth in? Maybe its with gardening, more self love and care for your family and yourself. Be creative!

  • Black represents the direction of the West. This direction represents inner work and healing. Examples of animal spirits are the Wombat and Bear. What inner work and or healing might you need?

  • White represents the North. The North is supported by the animal the white buffalo, the white Lion and white rino. This direction is about the passing of the eternal wisdoms. What have you learned and grown in wisdom from? What can you share with others? A prayer might be: "Great Spirit, Ancestors, Father God, Creator, Christ, Mother of God, Grandmothers, Grandfathers strengthen the wisdom within me and our family and community, may it be used and known to assist new life and may the wisdom from beyond be carried and awakened in me even more to serve love and life on this earth and may it be passed on as a blessing to all and serve the goodness of all of life in all areas and in all ways here and beyond now and forevermore."

  • Blue as I am sure you already guessed is the color for the Sky. It is supported by Creator/God/Ancestors/Angels/Star Nations..... An example of a prayer is: "Open me to be wildly inspired by Creators guidance for how to live into my dreams for loving, balanced, healthy relationships with myself and everyone and everything in life."

  • Green....Ahhhh....Yess...Mother Earth! The Earth that helps support and sustain our life. This is where you will place the crystal with your added prayer for all your prayers to grow. This is also an offering to her as a show of gratitude and love for all she does to support you and all life. May all your prayers be grounded in the earth to be nurtured and to grow in healthy body, mind, soul and spirit!

  • Once all ties have been made,  decide how long your tie will be kept - a few weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months or longer. Depending on the reason you created your tie will determine the length it will be flown and worked with. If it is a new year tie, celebrating a passage in life, or created at the beginning of a birth or project you will keep the tie for longer

  • I encourage you to  empower yourself to sense the length and time to keep it.

  • It is an empowering step in the activation process for the prayer tie to be put under your pillow and slept with for three nights. After the third night you may begin to work with the prayer tie as you feel called. You may place it outside, maybe on a tree, or hang inside your house somewhere. I once had mine in my car on the rearview mirror.  You may meditate with it. Maybe it will be outside for a while then maybe you'll bring it inside. Allow it to be worked with and rotate it around your environment as called.

The Final Step in the Prayer Tie is to Release it back to the Earth

The creation of your tie shows the intent for balance within all the directions of your life.

  • After you've created it and worked with it for the time you determined, to work with it. you will burn it and  then place the ashes and crystal back to the earth. This releasing can be buried in the ground, by a tree, in the sand at the ocean, or another body of water, left in a fire pit, or anywhere else you feel called.

(Prayer ribbons are based on more Tibetan and Native Traditions. Through your prayers, you remember how Spirit sustains you through life.)

I hope you will find the joy and wisdom in the foundation of this practice.

May you and your loved ones be blessed!
